settlement of refugees and in areas of Western Greece, an elected region, Mayors of Western Greece, church services, healthy representatives of agencies and security forces are meeting today in Patra for making decisions on the request submitted by the government in accordance with which we have to designate sites for open accommodation centres.
The meeting is under the burden of intention on the part of the state if there are no clear answers to go it alone from next Monday in selection procedures – configuration spaces and transport where families of refugees.
The assessment
The scenario that dominates , in terms of the outcome of today’s meeting, is that the majority of mayors not to propose areas other than those which we propose as an alternative for sites hosting the installation number of refugees in closed houses (Aigialeia), or abandoned hotels (of Amphilochia).
However, the vast majority of mayors are expected to “hide” behind the smokescreen of the non-existence of a response on the part of the government to the request for division of powers, the amount of funding, who will have the responsibility for the management of the funds and the distinct roles of each of the parties involved.
