HSBC: Growth 1.5% this year and 1.7% in 2025 in Greece

Steady in its estimates for Greece remains in its report, as it predicts a rate of 1.5% this year and 1.7%, better than the Eurozone average. However, HSBC, in addition to the stable forecast for growth, upgrades its estimate of inflation in Greece, to 2% this year from 1.8% forecast before, with a mild slowdown of 1.8% in 2025. The British bank in its report exempts Portugal and Greece in terms of government deficits, as well as debt-to-GDP rates that are relatively stable for most Eurozone countries, will continue to decline in Greece and Portugal. Greece will record debt to GDP this year at 151.9% from 160.7% last year and 143.8% from 2025 to 207% in 2020. However, HSBC points out the difficulty in debt write-down following a decline in the positive impact of inflation on public finances.
