Farmers: New payments for the September floods today

Today (29.3.2024) the new first aid to those affected from September in various areas of Thessaly and also in Central Greece took place. In particular, 2.542,062 euros were paid, while according to the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection given the bank’s holiday, flood payments will appear in the civilian bank accounts on Tuesday 2 April 2024 . In particular, today, a payment of 44,062 euros was made to 11 natural persons to deal with first living needs and simple repair work and/or replacement of household in areas affected by the floods of September 2023. These are payments made through the crossings made by the officials of the General Secretariat for the Rehabilitation of Natural Disasters and State Aid in the applications submitted to the first aid platform, while payments of EUR 5,000 to 1 beneficiary of first aid for housing assistance were made. Finally, payments of EUR 2,493,000 to 488 enterprises were made as first aid to the grant of the companies affected by the floods, including livestock farms and farms, following completion of the applications in the second cycle. In sum, therefore, until now, in the first and second cycles of first aid, 171.234 have been paid. 381 euros to 48,326 cases of applicants – whether households, businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock farms – affected by the unprecedented flooding that struck Thessaly, but also other areas. The cross-checking process of applications submitted, within the first and second cycles, to the first aid platform, arogi.gov.gr, continues and new payments will follow over the next few days. In particular, the payment of the second cycle of first aid to agricultural holdings and livestock farms continues according to the flow of data from the region of Thessaly and the region of Central Greece. The executives of the State Assistance Directorate of the General Secretariat for the Rehabilitation of Natural Disasters and State Aid are in close contact with the Regions and the competent agencies, in order to proceed with the work of the Committees and the National Aid Scales of the Regions, resulting in new first aid payments in the coming days.
