Women with purple wigs on streets of Thessaloniki for International Women’s Day

Artistic action aimed at sensitizing citizens on the issue of gender violence, took place today (08.03.2024) working in the municipality, as part of events of the municipality for . The 25 working women in the Municipality of Thessaloniki, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day took part in a flash mob, with a performance starting at the Music Center and ending at Aristotle Square, as Typosthes.gr. It is noted that at 20.00 p.m. at the Thessaloniki Municipal Gallery (Casa Bianca) six female actors of KTHBE will perform excerpts from the works: Carmen of Prosper Mérimée, Othello of William Shakespeare, Woyzeck of Georg Büchner, Bonds of Angel Termazis, Colonel Liapkin of M. Karagatsis, Stella of Michael Cacoyannis, will follow an operatic event at 21.00! In detail, the municipality of Thessaloniki reports: International Women’s Day 25 working women in the Municipality of Thessaloniki participated in an artistic activity starting with the Center for Music and heading to the pedestrian street of Agia Sophia and from there to Aristotle Square. Today’s action is part of the series of events organized by Culture – Municipality of Thessaloniki for Women’s Day, under the title “Alumni in Life and Art”, attempting to discuss essentially the murders of women, a universal issue that concerns us all and everyone.
