With the support of the Region of Crete-IP Rethymno, Amari Green Festival 2016, from 22 to 24 July at the site of the Building

With the support of the Region of Crete, Regional Unit of Rethymno will be held in the Amari Green Festival 2016 from Friday 22nd until… Sunday, July 24, at the site of the Building.
Organizers are the Municipality of Amari, the public Benefit Company (D.A Amari, and we have seen Rethymno company of art and culture, while the organisation will also support the Ministry of Culture of the Chamber of commerce of Rethymnon, in the Amari A. E.T.A. the Cultural Associations of the villages of the Municipality of Amari and a host of volunteers.
The Amari Green Festival, according to organizers, is a festival of nature, culture, history, music, folklore and gastronomy, which has as objective not only the acquaintance with the region and highlighting the main characteristics, and its connection with other places, countries and cultures, demonstrating the multiculturalism and openness that characterized the area of Amari, in the whole historical course.
Throughout the course of the three days of the Festival will take place topics actions who will include top musical events, exceptional performances, workshops, folk art and dance, presentations and lessons on the local gastronomy and local products, as well as promotional events of the archaeological and cultural wealth of the region. Αμαριώτισσες cooks will teach traditional recipes with products of the Αμαριώτικης earth, while there will be information days for the olive tree, the olive oil, pomegranate, prickly pear, carob, etc.
Particular emphasis has been given to the design of the workshops, on the topics concerning the transformation of agricultural and livestock activity, with emphasis on methods of cultivation, breeding, certification systems, quality, authenticity, methods of promoting the market development of alternative forms of tourism. Particularly useful will be the workshop for the compensation ELGA, Safety, Production, Financing – Subsidies.
In the artistic programme, take part to the great Cretan artists, performers, musicians and dancers, who join their works with distinguished international colleagues, in a unique fusion culture.
The artistic program includes eight (8) concerts: Friday, 22 July: Beginning with Leonidas Μαριδάκη this summer, a solo with his guitar, makes a show of listening and participation that the first reason they have the same songs from the discography, but the Greek pentagram. Then with the “Michael Kontaxaki Trio & Marina Δακανάλη, Antonis Βουμβουλάκη and John Πολυχρονάκη.
Saturday 23 July: The composer and musician Achilles Περσίδης, creator of all created “NOTIOS IHOS”, partner of Ross Daly and Psarantonis, having taken part in over 100 disks of the Greek discography, presents a special performance, with instrumental music, with a five-piece band. “A Musical Meeting Of Crete – Armenia”. Leading exponents of the Cretan and Armenian music Haig Yazdjian and Tigran Sargsyan, συμπράτουν on stage with Zacharias Spyridakis, Dimitris Σιδερή and John Παπατζανή. 3) Psarantonis, with: Yannis Paximadakis (lute) and John Papatzanis (percussion). The evening will close the Psarantonis with John Παξιμαδάκη and John Παπατζανή.
Sunday 24 July: The evening begins with loud music from the Balkans and the Mediterranean with the Dalkania consisting of Elias Boyko, Battle Κουφογιώργου, George Τζανέτο, and Joanna Christodoulou. Then with the “Andalucia-Crete”, a music and dance performance, the result of a joint meeting of excellent musicians and dancers from Andalucia and Crete.
The festival will end with the big concert of Vasilis Stavrakakis, with the musicians Stelios Petrakis, George Stavrakakis, Antonis Stavrakakis and Giannis Παπατζανή.
Three performances will also accompany the program. This is the show: “I’ll talk to you until sunrise” by Marinella Vlachaki, the show “Crisis will pass” by the theatrical group “Rethymnian From-Action” and the show “With halloumi cheese and raki”, a meeting of Cyprus-Crete!
