Patras: The door of the terrace of the Castle remains closed this summer

On a still summer the most beautiful terrace of Patras, remains closed…
We’re talking, of course, on the terrace of the Castle, a space that could be an oasis to the residents of the upper city during the summer months.
It is a place that could attract many of the tourists who come to Patra who passed from the particular point of the city because of the Roman Odeon and the Castle at short distances.
On the way up, besides, the stairs of Agios Nikolaos, looking for a place to rest, and the terrace of the Castle, would certainly be an ideal solution.
So, however, the residents of the area, and visitors who climb up to the upper town, they meet, and this summer the door closed. The padlock has become a permanent backdrop to the main entrance of the terrace where we remind that it is closed to the public after a ruling by the 6th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities, who wished in this way to protect the space and the archaeological monuments.
