What to watch out for AFTER the Easter table?

A sharp increase in show the week after Easter…
the hospital admissions with heart and gastro-intestinal episodes, due to the over-consumption of fat, calories, salt, alcohol and
sugar after several days of strict fasting.
The existing data show that by the afternoon of Easter Sunday, the turnout of patients in hospitals is increasing at least 30% of the average of the year.
This risk is not about the young and healthy, but individuals with predisposing factors the existence of which is sometimes know and sometimes they don’t, says clinical dietitian – biologist Grace Dimosthenopoulos, head of Can Department of the Laiko Hospital of Athens.
These factors are the extra pounds (even if you don’t reach somebody to obesity), hyperlipidemia (particularly elevated levels of triglycerides and bad or LDL cholesterol), even a small degree of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperuricemia (increased uric acid).
Charis Dimosthenopoulos explains what can happen and why, depending on the food that will be consumed:
Lamb and goat: they Have an increased content of saturated fat (especially the lamb has a lot more than the beef) and cholesterol, while the goat has increased content in purines (proteins that increase the uric acid). Therefore, anyone who has hyperlipidemia or/and hyperuricemia, it is strictly limited to a modest piece of meat without visible fat and skin.
Offal. Kokoretsi, magiritsa, fried sweetbreads, and all the dishes with liver and organs of the animal contain a lot of cholesterol and calories . Therefore, should be avoided or consumed in very small quantities by those who have hyperlipidemia or/and unnecessary pounds.
If someone wants to eat soup, it’s better to limit it on a plate with a side salad and avoid the yolk of the red egg. The intestines also contain a lot of purines, and therefore are contraindicated in individuals with hyperuricemia.
Red eggs. Eggs contain although cholesterol but not saturated fats, so 3-4 a week is not borne by the cholesterol. But because the overall menu for the evening of the Resurrection and Easter Sunday contains a lot of aggravating foods that elevate your cholesterol, those who have hyperlipidemia it is good to are limited to a Great Saturday and a Sunday of Easter.
Wine. Alcohol can aggravate your triglycerides, uric acid and blood pressure when exceeding the recommended quantities. Therefore, it is advisable not to exceed a glass of wine (or a moderate glass of beer) per day for women and two men.
Salads. The fibers tend to bind cholesterol and excrete via the intestine. Therefore, whatever you eat to accompany it with plenty of salad consisting of raw or boiled leafy vegetables (e.x. lettuce, arugula, spinach, purslane, herbs), cucumber, carrot, cabbage etc. If you have hyperuricemia, it is advisable to avoid tomatoes.
Drizzle the salad with a little olive oil with balsamic vinegar, lemon or vinegar, but if you have diabetes, watch out for the balsamic vinegar (contains many sugars).
Accompanying. Particular attention want dishes such as Russian salad, eggplant salad etc., because of the cholesterol. Despite their name, accompanying them, are not considered salads.
Carbohydrates. Because Easter is a weekend loaded with aggravating proteins, good people with excess weight and diabetics to limit their attendant carbohydrates (potatoes, bread, rice, pies, etc.)
Buns – buns. For economy of calories and fatty περιορισθείτε in a couple of bagels for breakfast and a slice of brioche after the meal, avoiding the other kinds of sweets.
