Thursday at 19-5-2016, the Foundation of the Housing of Minors in New york. Ionia.
In the context of support to children, of supply and solidarity and as a sign of affection towards them, we delivered personal hygiene items, clothing and footwear, books and sweets offer of the Volunteers, shops of Heraklion, with a sensitivity of support every time the actions of the Volunteers, the parents of the athletes of the Athletic Club and of the Commercial Professional Association of Heraklion, Attica.
The meeting with the children accommodated in the Shelter, and the staff that works there and is struggling to provide them with the best possible living conditions and education has been touching as well as talking with them about their daily living, school, hobbies, and concerns brought us close to with their problems and mental needs.
Great was their attention to the words of the coach of the Athletic Club Shaolin Wu gong, who explained to the children what offers this sport on the body and the soul of the athlete, the words that confirmed young athlete of the club , describing the incident which happened on the same and thanks to the skills and knowledge of the learning of the art, the face with temper.
The surprise of the children was greater when a proposal was made by the curator of the Sports Club, for free entry to the sport of those who express interest to engage with it , thus giving them the opportunity to join the team of athletes of the association.
Our visit this was one of the best experiences and gave us great inner joy and strength to continue our work, enhancing in this way the struggle for one’s fellow man, especially when it comes to children, for the dissemination of the spirit of solidarity and the awareness of all, and more social groups in need to offer.
