Two-day Conference about the Practices of de-institutionalisation – the Development of Policies for Social Care

The Region of Western Greece and the eu.P.Disabled people are organizing a… two-day conference with the theme: “Practices of de-institutionalisation – the Development of Policies of Social Care” on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March 2016 the multiplex “agora Argyri” (Ag. Andreou 12) in Patras, greece.
The conference will present speakers-members of european forum of the objects and their responsibilities related to Persons with Disabilities ii.x. ENIL (European Network on Independent Living European Network on Independent Living), the Ministry of Economy, strains of E.P.Disabled people, Local Authorities, the Foundation Tsatsos, Institute of Child Health, Centre for Social Welfare West Greece, Ii.The.P.C.K.Sure.A etc.
The work will begin Friday at 11.30 in the morning, while on Saturday, the second day of the Conference, the start is at 9: 30 am.m.
The thematic modules will be developed:
• Deinstitutionalisation and international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities
• Living in community as a human rights issue
• The role of Local Authorities and the structural funds in the de-institutionalisation
• The course of Deinstitutionalization in Western Greece
The aim of the conference is the Independent living and Deinstitutionalisation, which is a fundamental right that people with disabilities should enjoy on an equal basis.
Objectives of the Conference are:
• The presentation of political financing with a view to the increase of services that contribute to the deinstitutionalisation and smooth integration in society of the beneficiaries.
• The presentation of practices that are followed in the countries of the European Union and can act as templates for the creation of a national programme of de-institutionalisation
• Presentation of planning and plans implementation of programmes of de-institutionalisation followed by the Regions at the national level
• The reference to the rights of the fosters: the basis of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which has been ratified and signed by the Greek state (N. 4074/2012)
• The presentation and information to the public by scientists for the stages and the procedures followed for the de-institutionalisation of beneficiaries.
Be noted that the organisation of the conference has the support of the University of Patras and the technological educational institute of Western Greece.
