This is the plan of the municipal authority for the OSE in Larissa

In the past three months, the municipal authority has caused discussions with the executives of the CIU…
Meetings were held in Larissa and Athens, the last to be made at the offices of the secretary-general of the ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks etc. Perch and the participation of high-ranking executives of the companies of the CIUS.
In particular, in accordance with the information of the mr Kaloyan to the City Council:
FREIGHT CENTER
The OSE is driven in decision making for operation of a Freight Centre in an area after the Sugar Factory, in the area of Κουλουρίου and in an area of 400 acres, which belongs to the CIU and is bordered by the areas of the Municipal Depot.
This is the first Freight Center of OSE, which will operate outside the ports. The operation will bring added value to the city and the local entrepreneurship.
The operation of the Freight Centre, will give a significant boost to the issue of the transfer of the current Centre, Screening and Freight Station, which operates in the Μεζούρλο. The current areas of the CIU in that particular area will get in the process of release in order to remain in the city, with significant benefits for the areas of anthoupoli housing and the New State.
ΣΙΔΗΡΟΔΡΟΜΙΚΟΣ STATION
As stated by the mayor, both the OSE and the Municipality is pursuing on the eve of the Station at the point located with the parallel upgrade. From the meetings emerged the pursuit of OSE to proceed to creation of a Commercial Centre and the upgrading of the area.
It is noted that the wider area of the Railway Station, is proposed as a space of intervention for the implementation of projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (ΣΒΑΚ), which objective is to join in the new NSRF.
The interventions will relate to the interconnection of the Railway Station with the centre of the city, through streets traffic-calmed, pedestrian ways, cycle paths etc.
The Municipality of Larissa could allow interventions to be attributed to parallel areas in neighbouring districts. In the context of this discussion, can open the and the issue of the removal of the Customs office.
RAILWAY LINES
A separate chapter are the rail lines that cross and divide the city of Larissa.
As stated by the mayor, the city for decades and that raises the issue of undergrounding.
From the discussions with the executives of a CIU, it turns out that the Agency appears negative, citing issues that have to do with the very high cost, noting that where he has begun work undergrounding has been suspended or stopped.
Given should be considered also, that the next two years will dramatically increase the movement of commercial trains. It should be noted that today, in a 24-hour basis, cross-Larisa-seven commercial trains of OSE, the next period is expected to reach even 20 freight trains.
As a proposal has been put on the table the creation of a railway bypass of the city for commercial trains, with the development of a new line that moves parallel to the PATHE.
Until then, however, the Municipality will claim the construction of underpasses (as of Farsala and of Εχεκρατίδα) to other crossing points such as Volos, Agia, etc.)
PROTOCOLS OF COOPERATION, PLANNING, COSTS, DESIGN
As pointed out by the mayor, relevant discussions and efforts have been made in the past. However have not worked. The aim of the municipal authority is the conclusion and signature protocols so that any decisions taken to be binding on both parties and, in particular, the OSE and the Municipality, regardless of the persons in the administration.
Mr. Kalogiannis, stressed the city does not have studies to indicate amounts and costs, stressing that they will need to prepare as in depth two or three years to mature projects, in order to be able to join in financial protocols.
As also stated by the mayor, the debate and decisions on the major issues of the city, may not be the case in the municipal authority and of the faction of the majority. Required a convergence of views both on the Municipal Council, and at the level of local society.
The discussions and contacts with the CIU will continue, and the matter will come back to the City Council for discussion, when mature some issues, with mr Kaloyan bound to be in line with the heads of the factions for information and discussion when there are significant developments.
From the discussion and placement on the City Council, it transpired that mood convergence, questions have been raised, there has been different positions.
It is noted that before last week, mr. Kalogiannis had invited the heads of the factions which had informed thoroughly.
