Thessaloniki: Among Europe’s top airports, Macedonia Airport

Distinction for Macedonia in the category of five to 15 million passengers per year… As one of the top airports in Europe, Thessaloniki’s Macedonian airport was recognized for the second consecutive year in the category of five to 15 million passengers per year. The distinction was given to Fraport Greece, during the “2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards”, in which the airport of Thessaloniki was awarded for the first year to one of Europe’s tops, in terms of its level of cleanliness. ASQ Awards, an initiative by the International Airport Council (ACI), reward the best airports worldwide, according to passenger opinion. The specificity of these awards lies, according to Fraport Greece’s announcement, in the evaluation process, which immediately brings together the comments of passengers during their journey, ensuring the most realistic representation of their experience and satisfaction. “This distinction for Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia” not only confirms the best practices that are being applied, but also the high quality services provided by the fully trained personnel of the airport, but also contributes to enhancing the visibility of the city of Thessaloniki and Greece as a whole” is stated in the announcement. According to Alexander Zinell, director of Fraport Greece, “this distinction gives us strong impetus to continue our work with even greater empathy, always focusing on the expectations and needs of all our passengers, as they are shaped over time. Our main goal remains to contribute to the development of Greek tourism and local communities, through the sustainable development of our Company, while providing a safe and memorable travel experience to all passengers.”
