There was a meeting of bodies and women’s organisations

Read the announcement: “on Wednesday 24 February 2016 was held with the initiative of the Head of the Sector of Equality of the Union of Regions of Greece, lady of Light Βρύνα, meeting actors and women’s organisations in the offices of the Union of Regions of Greece with the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Committee for the Equality of Attica and Regional Culture & Youth, mrs. Evangelia Apostolaki.
This meeting was attended by representatives from the Σοροπτιμιστική Union of Greece, from the “Panathinaikos” pan-Hellenic Women’s Organization, from the Political Association of Women, from the Movement of Democratic Women and the Network for Combating Violence against Women, by the Greek Delegation to the European Women’s Lobby, by the Lyceum of Greek women, by the Women’s Association of Crete, from the Union of Greek women for Family and Youth, and the Initiative Woman and Health.
During the meeting it was announced that the action will take place to mark the international Women’s Day on 8 March. This is the free monitoring two theatrical performances on Wednesday 9 and Saturday 12 March at the Art Theatre. The first is titled “When we wake up we are the dead” of Henry Ibsen, and is mainly addressed to states, entities and women’s organizations, while the second is “end game” by Samuel Beckett, and for the general public. On both performances, the entrance will be free, as the costs are covered by the Region of Attica. Unique consideration for the present will be the offer of basic necessities for the Foundation Foundation, and the Infirmary (former PIKPA) Penteli. More specifically, olive oil, vegetable oil, flour and sugar are the kinds that have the first institution, while baby diapers No. 4 & 5 has been requested from the second.
In a period of economic and humanitarian crisis, it is important to focus on the man and even more so in children, who are in need of the support and the thought of all of us, in any way can each and everyone of us. For this reason, the Union of Regions of Greece, the Gender Equality agency IN.E.E., the Region of Attica and the above-mentioned women’s organisations/equality bodies have decided this year to commemorate the international Women’s Day in a different way and more relevant than ever, in order to respond in the best way the requirements of the era and to give to all and all the message of offer and solidarity.”
