Small but grand, really: Today we celebrate, because pure electric EX30 wins an important prize at the prestigious World Car Awards institution! EX30 was declared World Urban Car [World Urban Car] for 2024, distinguishing among other competing nominations. The awards were presented today at the New York International Car Fair and the smallest SUV also won us a spot among the first three cars in the world, on a list numbering 38 nominations. “The conquest of this title gives us great joy and confirms our ambitious strategy for electricity,” states Jim Rowan (Jim Rowan), CEO of Volvo Cars. “The customer response to EX30 has exceeded our expectations. Turns out it is an ideal car for market conditions today, as an increasing number of buyers go to pure electric cars. I am convinced that EX30 will contribute significantly to our development this year and then. “ EX30 was presented last summer, detaching a crowd of praises and has already won major awards, such as The Sun Car of the Year, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year from Sunday Times and Ecowarrior of the Year from Top Gear magazine. EX30 is a powerful addition to our product range, which also includes highly attractive plug-in and mild hybrid models in many categories. These cars are an important bridge to achieve the Volvo Cars goal of placing only pure electric cars on the market by 2030. Since its presentation, EX30 has quickly become particularly popular among customers. Based on our order book, we expect it to be one of our best sellers this year. This is the smallest SUV we have ever presented and is based on a specially designed electric car platform. In addition to zero pollutant emissions, EX30 has evolved with the minimum carbon footprint possible throughout its life cycle. Interested customers can choose between three electric drive systems: – Single Motor version with 272 horsepower (200kW) engine and 51kWh battery. – Single Motor Extended Range version with a larger battery capacity of 69kWh. – And the Twin Motor Performance version with two electric motors total performance 428 horsepower (315kW) and battery 69kWh. EX30 offers driving autonomy up to 476 km and its battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% of its capacity in just over 25 minutes.
