The largest pan-european street skate contest at the Municipality of Maroussi

In the high-level infrastructure of the Skate Park in the Municipality of Maroussi, before two and a half years, the Mayor mr. George Patoulis delivered to young people, hosted the biggest pan-european street skate contest “Vans Shop Riot” on Saturday, 3 September 2016.
Fans of street and Skate culture had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon full of energy, music and skate at a high level, for the promotion of the best skateshop team in the country for 2016.
In the event took part the best Skate shops of Greece and the top riders, in a “battle” of high requirements for the promotion of the winning team.
The Mayor of Amaroussion mr Giorgos Πατούλη was represented by the deputy Mayor of Culture and Sports mrs. Rena Χαλίωη, which welcomed in Maroussi, athletes and friends of the sport, stressing:
“The Mayor of Amaroussion is always there in our youth. This Skate Park that was inspired and implemented by mr. Patoulis, is a space for young people who are involved with this sport and we’re really happy about the great impact that it has on our youth.
Already it has hosted many important events and has become a meeting place, quality of recreation and sport for our youth.”
Also present at the event was the Municipal Councillor, mr Evangelos Κάββαλος.
The Vans Shop Riot Series is a pan-european contest to promote the skate culture, of the european skate scene, the independent skateshops and the best riders. Every country that takes part, creating your own local skate event, invites the best skateshop teams in a “battle” that will highlight the best team, and will give him the ticket for the grand final.
The Vans Shop Riot 2016 Finals will take place this year between 16 and 10 September in Portugal.
