Tasos Bakasetas: “New measures to deal with fan violence are a good start”

For his fan violence, course and expectations for this year’s Super League playoffs the captain of the national football team spoke in an interview. “I think that the new measures imposed by the Minister of Sports, Mr. Brutsis, are a good start, that there should be such strict measures, that the teams should be punished. Is a flare dropping? Punishment. There will also be the identification of fans through the gov, with the cards, etc., and I think it will be easier for both government and sport,” stressed the leader of National Greece, Tasos Bakasettas, in his interview in Kathimerini. “All this will bring out those who repeatedly create problems or toxic situations, will not be able to enter the stadiums, watch struggles and will be able to hunt them down criminally. Then many things are needed. And at the level of society and investment in sport. We have to make people want to come to the field. We have stadiums in Greece where people don’t go with their heart,” Tasos Bakasettas completed. “All countries have gone through such situations. We say about England that it is now good, but they used to be killed every day,” noted the international footballer, while pointing out that “everybody has to work with himself and solve what is needed. Because I think sports and the stadium are more like an outbreak. I can’t understand how a man can in the third minute swear obscenely. This shows that something carries inside him and that’s the way he breaks out.” Greece needs to see our national team in a major event after years “Greece needs to see our national team in a big event after years. We players have been through too much, too many disappointments, and now is our chance. That’s how I see it. We’re focused and thirsty. We expect how and how the call to the National to come together, to be together, to train hard, to tell our jokes, to play,” Tasos Bakasettas noted. The playoffs are going to be serious battles. Referring to the Super League playoffs, Panathinaikos footballer stressed: “I like the fact that the championship is like this. And Olympiacos now presents a different person in relation to what it was like two and three weeks ago and I think that the playoffs will have serious battles between the teams, all teams are good. Both AEK and PAOK have a good team, and we are a very good team. We’ll have nice derby in this mini league.”
