SYRIZA: Jackie handed over to the NW text – indictment for Costas Karamanlis and asks for a recommendation of a Pre-interrogation Committee

She handed a text to the government on behalf of SYRIZA, in which charges against the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport regarding the tragedy in Tempes are reported. As Theodora Tsakris made known, the text states that they have a standing charge against Kostas Karamanlis for manslaughter with a possibility of deceit, and asks Kyriakos Mitsotakis to vote for the recommendation of a Pre-rogation Committee for the former Minister and to activate the law on the responsibility of ministers. He also asks Mr Karamanlis to put himself at the disposal of justice. In detail the statement by Theodora Jackris “I have just handed over to the Secretary of the New Republic Mr. Stavros Kalafatis for information to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Government and the K.O. of the N.D. the indictment with specific acts- omissions of Costas Ah. Karamanlis, who, in our view, meet the objective and subjective existence of the crimes of manslaughter with a possible deceit under Article 299 P.C., the disruption of the safety of the means of transport of fixed track pursuant to Article 291 par.1d and to the PK and the report referred to in Article 306 par.2 P.C. We ask the government of the South West to commit itself to voting for the establishment of a Pre-Interrogation Committee pursuant to Article 86(3) of the Constitution to investigate these crimes and to commit itself not to try to cover up Mr Karamanlis’ responsibilities so that he can be brought to justice after the prosecution. We therefore ask the Southwest and Mr Mitsotakis to implement the Constitution, to activate the Law on the Liability of Ministers and to cease covering up Mr Karamanlis’ criminal behaviour and Mr Karamanlis to put himself at the disposal of justice.”
