SYRIZA creates a task force for the European elections: How to draw up the Eurobond

Stefanos Kasselakis will decide for five candidates on June, while two will emerge from the April qualifiers. How the Euro-vote will be drawn up and the creation of a tasjk force after what happened with the e-mail leak was decided by the Political Secretariat meeting today (22.03.2024). SYRIZA’s task force will be created in the light of the European elections and after the case of Anna Michel Asimakopoulou and the leak of e-mails. The task force decided by the Political Secretariat will monitor issues of inviolability throughout the election period and issues of any breach of personal data. As regards the formation of the SYRIZA Eurovote, 35 seats will be covered by the primary elections, which will be held hybridly on 14 April. The two MEPs will join the Euro-vote without entering the qualifiers, while five candidates will be nominated on the ballot by party president Stefanos Kasselakis. In the qualifiers will be part of some 400 people, who will choose the district in which they wish to descend. The Political Secretariat of SYRIZA has also decided that a quota will apply. In the vote on drawing up the European vote to be held both by ballot boxes and by electronic means via iSyriza, they will be able to take part outside the members and friends of the party. The party executives who participate in the Political Secretariat valued the opposition attitude of the party with a positive sign, but also the political positions expressed by Syriza in all the key political and social events they have been working on lately, as sources of Koumoundourou reported. Particular reference was made to the issue of Private Universities where it was unanimously stressed that “SYRIZA rightly supported and supported student mobilisations against the bill that violated Article 16 of the Constitution”.
