Sophia Lauren: Restaurant in honor of actress opens in Hong Kong

A restaurant dedicated to opening its doors in ! The restaurant chain “Sophia Loren House” opens its first branch outside Italy in Hong Kong. The store as well as the whole chain is dedicated to legendary Italian actress Sophia Lauren. The restaurant will be opened in mid-April in the Wanchai area and will operate on the four-story Woo Cheong Pawn Shop, Hong Kong cultural heritage building. The site will be dedicated to Italy of the 1960s and 1970s, at the time of Federico Fellini’s film “La Dolce Vita” and also to the climax of Sophia Lauren’s film career. “In my life I had many passions and one of them is undoubtedly food,” Lauren said in a statement. “No director ever managed to diet me – and the hours I spent in the kitchen kneading, frying and baking were among the happiest of my life. When they asked me to create a chain of restaurants in my honour, I gladly consented to this wonderful adventure and I am proud to be a member of a team of talented Neapolitans who wish to export the “truth” of Neapolitan cuisine to the world,” the actress said. The restaurant, like the other four in Italy, was designed by Italian architect Ivo Maria Redaeli, who has chosen for the decoration of many works of art on the subject of Sophia Lauren. On each floor of the restaurant will be offered different food suggestions, on the ground floor will be the Neapolitan pizzeria, on the first floor there is an Italian restaurant with seafood and classic dishes. The third floor features a retro dance floor on the subject in the 1970s and the roof hosts a cocktail bar. Sophia Loren House in Hong Kong will be the fifth restaurant in the chain. Sophia Lauren opened her first restaurant in Florence in 2021 in collaboration with Neapolitan businessman and politician Luciano Chimino and then the chain expanded to Milan, Fumicino Airport, Rome and Bari.
