The tickets have increased!
The President of SYRIZA on 18.01.2011 had made the following pertinent Question in Parliament on the same subject.

“Timely question to the Prime minister
Subject: “Crippling increases in the prices of tickets in public transport and tolls on highways”
In parallel with the price increases in necessities and in the tariffs of SOES, the government has launched from 1 February, an increase of 40% in the price of the ticket in Public Transport as well as excessive increases in the prices of tolls on highways that don’t correspond to the quality of the national road network. The time that the unemployed approaching one million, the income of workers has declined dramatically, the government is following the instructions and the terminology of the Memorandum and the Loan agreement, calls it streamlining, consolidation and restructuring of the increase in the price of the ticket, the abolition of collective agreements and the indirect privatisation of public transport.
Because in all the developed countries, public transport is subsidised, because the Greek state is subsidizing the private transport while on the contrary, he owes it to the public,
Does the prime Minister
-What measures will you take in order to prevent a new increase in the price of the tickets and to prevent any attempt of privatisation of urban transport?
-Intends to terminate the contracts with construction companies on highways for the toll collection that have not complied with their contractual obligations?
-Why not adopt a state model for the transport, where the transfer will not be treated as a commodity and will not be forbidding the access of all citizens?
