Reduction of electricity and gas prices in February

Electricity and gas prices were reduced by returning to pre-crisis levels in February (2024) in Greece according to the monthly HEPI survey, for its retail in European countries conducted by Austrian and Hungarian energy regulators and Vaasa ETT. In particular, the average price for domestic kilowatts decreased by 3% and was set at 22,97 cents per kilowatt hour (including taxes and charges), below the EU average of 24.85 cents. After that, the price of electricity is ranked 16th among 33 European cities. For natural gas, the price in Athens was reduced on a monthly basis by 10% (it is the largest reduction rate in the EU, along with Estonia), and was set at 6.94 cents per kilowatt hour, significantly below the EU average of 10.54 cents. The price in Athens was last month the 20th cheapest among 27 European cities.
