The Republican president is also expected to make in the next few days in steps for the restriction of irregular immigration with the signing of executive orders to limit the number of refugees, and the prohibition on issuing visas for citizens from several countries of the Middle East and North Africa, with a mainly muslim population, such as Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Libya, and Yemen.
In an interview he gave to the news network ABC, excerpts of which were published today, Trump said he expects the construction of the wall on that country’s border with Mexico to start within months the design is already in progress, noting that Mexico will cover the “100%” of the costs of construction of the wall.
The measures were signed, inter alia, provides for the hiring of 5,000 additional personnel in the bureau of Customs and Border Protection, the duties of which was to arrest those who were attempting to illegally cross the border and the tripling of the number of executives of the Customs Service and Immigration used for the arrest and the deportation of immigrants living illegally in the united states, have underlined sources in the Congress, with knowledge of the plan.
“The construction of this wall was something more than an election promise. It is a first step in a common sense to ensure the truth of the perforated our borders,” said late today the representative of the american presidency, Sean Spicer. “This will limit the flow of drugs, crime, and irregular migrants within the territory of the united states”, he noted.
As announced by the White House, the American president will sign a decree on the strengthening of mechanisms for the enforcement of the laws relating to immigration.
As pointed out by Spicer the money for the application of the decrees will be drawn from the federal funds that were used for the implementation of a legislation for the protection of migrants (the so-called cities-shelters [“sanctuary cities”]).
In cities such as San Francisco’s local officials, who often come from the Democratic party, refuse to cooperate with the federal authorities to take measures against irregular migrants.
As pointed out by Spicer the Trump will give a mandate to the federal government to seek ways for the discontinuation of specific funds to these cities that refuse to comply.
Also it will put an end to the policy of previous governments, in accordance with which persons who have been detained as irregular immigrants are released pending a hearing by a judge.
