Ocean Viking, the rescue ship of the SOS Mediterranean organization, has collected, in the last 24 hours, 196 migrants aboard boats off the coast of Libya, as announced by the European NGO.
The #OceanViking rescued 57 people from a rubber boat in distress spotted from the bridge in international waters in the Libyan SRR this morning.

Among the survivors are 8 women, 11 minors, incl. 5 children under the age of 12.

According to the International Organization for Migration, at least 1.146 people lost their lives in the Mediterranean in the first half of the year trying to reach European shores.
