N. Chountis: “The government is gambling with the public nature of admie s. a”

The european “institutions” that are pushing in violation of community law and the government of SYRIZA-ANEL that delivers… “a blank cheque” and gamble the complete privatization of admie s. a, it complains with a question to the european Commission, the mep of the people’s Unity, Nikos Chountis.
The Greek mep, with the question, recalls that, in a recent own question, the Commission had replied that, in any case, “the Directive 72/2009/EC does not oblige the member states to the privatisation of the transmission system operators (admie s. a), and that the Memorandum signed and voted for the government, provided “a blank cheque” to the institutions to decide unilaterally “if there is satisfactory progress”, otherwise it will impose the complete privatization of admie s. a.
As noted in the question, the Greek mep, “In a Supplementary Memorandum of Understanding (16.06.2016, page 31), refers to the obligation of the Greek government to approve the July 2016 the sale of at least 20% of the shares of admie s. to a strategic investor, with the corresponding bidding process to start in July 2016 and the obligation of the definition of the preferred investor to be completed by October 2016. In the opposite case, “if the institutions consider, in consultation with the Greek government, that there is a lack of satisfactory progress for the completion of the process within 2016, particularly in relation to the definition and the purchase by the strategic investor, the Hellenic Republic will announce the October 2016 date for the submission of binding offers for the sale of all of the shares of PPC to admie s. a as of December 2016 and will fully privatise admie s. 2017”.
Based on the above, Nikos Chountis calls on the Commission to answer “How is it possible that the institutions (Commission, ECB, ESM, IMF) to impose the complete privatization of admie s. a, when the Commission itself admits that, on the basis of the Directive 72/2009, member-states are not required in the privatisation of transmission system operators”. The commission was also asked to clarify, what criteria should determine the “institutions” that there is a lack of “satisfactory progress” that will lead, in accordance with the Supplemental Memorandum, mandatory to the full privatisation of admie s. a.
