11th tournament “MATALA MASTER BEACH VOLLEY”

The Regional Section of Heraklion, the cultural association Πιτσιδίων Matala , the Greek Federation of Volleyball (EOPE), with the support (aegis) of the municipality of Phaistos and for the Μονομετοχικής company’s Matala, S. a., are organizing the 11th tournament matches volleyball sand (beach volleyball) men – women , with the title “MATALA MASTER BEACH VOLLEY”, national championship, from 14 to 17 July 2016 on the beach at Matala.
The games, according to the organizers, I don’t have a competitive nature, but aim in the sports, entertainment, collaboration and the strengthening of relations between the exercisers and the residents of the region, as well as the cultural and tourist promotion of Matala.
At a press conference today in the Region of Crete, the vice-governor of Heraklion, Euripides Κουκιαδάκης, the executive director of sport Nick Συριγωνάκης, and the organization in charge of the tournament Claus Κοκοτσάκης reported on the success of the tournament held for the 11th consecutive year.
The vice-governor of Heraklion, Euripides Κουκιαδάκης referring to the successful institution pointed out that Matala is now a sports destination. “We are utilizing the possibilities of, and the name of Matala, the tournament is a very successful sports institution that every year gets better. Slowly the south of Heraklion, in Crete, it acquires the value it deserves and this is the effort we are making in the last few years”.
The executive director of sport of the Region of Crete Nikos Συριγωνάκης reported for the tournament: “this Year, at least 150 athletes from all over Greece will highlight it further in the big tournament. The Region of Crete supports this effort because such events are a great view of Crete, while strengthening the economy and development of the south. We invite fellow citizens to combine their excursion with the monitoring-participation in the organisation”.
The organization in charge of the tournament Claus Κοκοτσάκης from the side of the said: “The event is for the 11th consecutive year with the participation and support of the Greek Federation. The tournament is a premier in Greece in terms of equity. We have a large number of groups, men and women, professionals, amateurs and beginners. Racing is considered one of the hardest in Greece. We warmly thank the Region of Crete Regional unit of Heraklion and the municipality of Phaistos, the EOPE, for their valuable support and help them.”
