MYTILINEOS: Potential for further economic cooperation with Canada

In Canada, the president and CEO of Energy & Metals, Evangelos Mytileneos, is in charge of the company in the country. In a meeting with Greek Prime Ministers Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Canada Justin Trideau in Toronto, he had the opportunity to discuss more extensively MYTILINEOS’ investment in Alberta. It is recalled that the company has entered the country’s market with a 1.4 GW solar portfolio acquisition in Alberta by Westbridge Renewable Energy, an investment exceeding 1.7 billion CAD (1.16 billion) for the construction of 5 photovoltaic projects in the region. The meeting took place on the occasion of the visit of the Greek Prime Minister to Canada, as well as the celebrations of the Greek revolution by the expatriates. The three of them, at their meeting, had the opportunity to discuss the further possibilities of cooperation between the two countries, but also Canada more broadly with the European industry, since Mr Mytilene is also President of Eurometaux, an organization representing non-ferrous metal industries in Europe, whose members have 500 thousand direct and 3 million indirect employees and an annual turnover of EUR 120 billion. During his visit to Canada, Mr. Mytileneus also held a meeting with Prem Watsa, president and CEO of Fairfax Financial Holdings, based in Toronto and has significant investment positions in the country being the largest shareholder in MYTILINEOS outside mytileneos family. Mr. Mytilene, as part of his visit to Canada, will also have meetings with the government authorities of Alberta, as well as with investment organizations in the country. SOURCE: RES-BE
