About a year ago, after a fight, the woman poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire at the family tavern they kept. She was taken to prison and is now preparing to take her way back to Lesvos, to join her family. On Tuesday, March 26 at the Mixed Orkoti Chios closed the family drama, which unfolded in a well-known tavern of Mytilene. Then in an outburst the woman during another fight with her husband, surrounded him with gasoline resulting in severe life – threatening burns. The court decided to turn the sentence of attempted manslaughter into heavy physical harm and recognizing two mitigating factors to the accused to sentence her to five years in prison, with parole. In fact, after his appeal, he was released. In court her husband with obvious marks from the attack and with motor problems, supported his wife while also in her apology she referred to the problems with alcohol she has had in recent years due to two serious losses experienced by the family losing two of her three children. Their son was the connecting link that reunited the family again while after the decision was announced, the three embraced them wanting to make a new start. The well-known criminalist Alexis Kouyas attended the trial as an advocate for the woman’s defence and declared particularly pleased with the decision that gives the family the opportunity to make this new beginning. As Alexis Kougias said, according to aeolos.tv, the family will open in a month, again the tavern, in the center of Mytilene. “They will collect their pieces and reopen the restaurant all together”.
