Mexico’s Supreme Court formally decriminalized adult marijuana use Monday.
The court ruling came after the Mexican Congress failed to pass a law on the issue before the deadline set by the Supreme Court, April 30.
On March 10, the Parliament approved a bill for this purpose.
The text that was passed was submitted to the Senate, which had already approved it in November, but had to vote on it again, after several amendments to the text were tabled by the deputies.
