Israel: Actress opened fire on vehicles in Jericho on the West Bank

Near Jericho a man opened fire today (28.03.2024) against many vehicles resulting in three people being injured, according to his army. Israel’s military and emergency response agency announced that a perpetrator shot at vehicles including, according to Israeli media, a school near Jericho on the occupied West Bank. Since the attack three people were injured. “Terrorist shot at many vehicles near the city of al Auza”, about ten kilometers north of the Palestinian city of Jericho, the Israeli army pointed out in a statement. A 30-year-old man was seriously injured by the attack and two other people – a 21-year-old and a 13-year-old teenager – were slightly injured, the emergency response service commented. According to Israeli state radio, the perpetrator, wearing a hood and carrying a semi-automatic weapon, began shooting shortly after 07:00 in the morning against Israeli vehicles and a school bus. As they broadcast Israeli media, the school had unbreakable windows. Israel’s army immediately sent reinforcements to the site and closed all roads, while searching for the perpetrator, clarified in his announcement. Violence has been exacerbated in the West Bank, an area which Israel occupied in 1967, following the start of the Gaza Strip war on October 7. According to the Palestinian Authority, more than 440 Palestinians have been killed on the West Bank by the fire of Israeli soldiers or settlers, while thousands of others have been arrested. At least 17 Israeli soldiers and civilians have lost their lives in attacks in the same time.
