In the process of digital transformation 1 in 3 businesses

For most of the companies in that area, to which it belongs, and Greece, the digital transformation has not yet emerged as a priority. In fact, 32% of participants in an investigation of Oracle and IDC indicates that it has plans for the specific area. In addition, at least for the moment, procedures of digital transformation are performed in less than 35% of the agencies and companies in the region, and soon it will start at 34%.
At the global level, in fact, by the end of 2017, the digital transformation will be a focal point of business strategy for more than two-thirds of the top companies in the world.
Oracle and IDC conducted the survey (“The Fusion of Business and Technology in the age of Digital”), in order to investigate the way in which it is formed the new business model in CEE countries and Africa. The research involved senior executives from more than 251 organizations in a variety of industries, with the participation of executives and from Greece.
On the process of digital transformation in companies from the region, the survey notes that the technologies used, include, especially, the cloud, mobile devices, Big Data and social networking.
The survey finds that the area of CDE is still behind Western Europe regarding the use of these technologies by the companies, and if it detects that more and more are planning to implement or to assess the possibility of their implementation.
Cloud and Big Data
According to the survey of IDC, 34% of respondents use cloud technologies, while 39% planning to implement cloud technologies, or studying such a possibility. In addition, 41% make use of technologies for mobile devices, while about one in four companies uses solutions Big Data.
From other research findings it is presumed that, for 72% of the participants improving the customer experience, is the main business priority for the next 12 months. In addition, 41% of the participants indicates that the corporate IT has a supporting role, increasing business efficiency, while 40% of respondents felt that IT shapes the competitive advantage and allows for the creation of revenue. In fact, only 18% said that IT is considered as a necessary cost.
Overall, the digital transformation is considered by the companies themselves as a process with significant advantages, with research showing a direct relationship between the implementation of a strategy of digital transformation and increase revenue.
Innovation
“The emergence of a new category of companies, which are more flexible than their competitors and therefore be in a better position to create new and innovative services that will be closer to what they really want clients, is mark the beginning of the processes of digital transformation,” says the Oracle. He adds that the traditional organizations to cope with the new competition, “use, with ever-increasing reliability, new technologies to create innovative products, processes or complex business models, creating, thus, new digital strategies”.
