Suspected of making death threats against his teacher and police, authorities in France are investigating a child of 8 who went to his school with two knives, broadcast the French News Agency on Monday, March 25, citing the city’s prosecution of St Etienne. The investigation began for “death threats, possession of weapons and import of weapons into a school environment”, the French Agency was clarified by St Etienne’s prosecutor, David Sharmac. School students informed an educator of the threats posed by the 8-year-old, in whose bag two meat knives were found, according to the newspaper Le Figaro, which transmitted the information. In contact with the French Agency, the principal of Saint-Charles elementary school in St. Etienne said that “there is a process in progress” and does not “want to comment” on the matter. The 8-year-old, who spoke to the police like his parents, questions the statements attributed to him, according to the prosecution. “His age prevents any prosecution against this child, for which special psychologists and psychiatrists will tell us what these events reveal about his personality and his needs for educational support,” David Sharmac explained.
