“Fire it up” the british nuclear power plant – ghost

Contract of at least eur 1.7 billion. euro won the French engineering firm Bouygues for the…
creation of a nuclear power plant in Britain, and in particular of the controversial nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point: a project the value of which amounts to 18 billion. sterling and intended to produce 7% of the total electricity for the United Kingdom.
Why, however, is characterized as “controversial” to you? The most important reason has to do with the technology. The reactor planned for Hinkley was relatively new and therefore has not been tested. Also recorded serious technical problems in the construction of other similar reactors in Finland and the South of France, with the first departing completely from the original budget, and schedules. Problem very important since Britain wants the Hinkley ready for operation by 2025.
Another negative factor for the British is the participation in the investment of 18 billion. pounds of the chinese group CGN was undertaken to cover the 1/3 of the total amount. The British, however, did not want this indirect involvement of the Chinese in military matters and issues of national security and consider that it is particularly wise to give Beijing the opportunity to exercise control in such important energy infrastructure.
Now the French Bouygues undertakes to cooperate with the british company Laing o’rourke for the construction of buildings that will house two nuclear reactors.
The contract belongs to the state-owned French power company Electricite de France, which received the green light for the construction of Hinkley Point, last September. This is expected to be the most expensive nuclear power plant that has ever been constructed.
After the notification of the withdrawal of the project from Bouygues, the title of the French company noted a rise of 0.7% to 34.10 euros.
It is noted that the supervisory mechanism of France for the personal safety, had blocked the construction of the factory in 2008 due to problems with the quality of the materials used. Bouygues launched the work at Hinkley in September 2006 and now the reactor is planned to start operating in the fourth quarter of 2018, or six years behind the original schedule and at a cost that has tripled the original calculations of 10.5 billion. euro.
