Denmark extend controls at the border with Germany

Denmark has today decided to extend by 30 days, until April 3, the…
temporary controls on its borders with Germany, said today the minister for Immigration Inger Στόιμπεργκ.
The government imposed a temporary border controls on 4 January, in response to similar measures in Sweden that were taken as a response to the influx of immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, and extend the measure in line with the northern neighbour.
“The view of the government of Denmark continues to be that border controls applied do not exceed what is strictly necessary in this situation”, reports the Στόιμπεργκ in a letter to the commissioner for Immigration, Dimitris Avramopoulos, in which he gives explanations for the extension.
