Provocative Tatar: Undermining of Cyprus settlement efforts undermines passports

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar told Britain’s Guardian newspaper that the decision to remove the Republic of Cyprus passports from him and other Turkish Cypriot politicians were an “attack on efforts to find a solution” to the Cyprus issue.

According to the Cypriot News Agency, Tatar added that “the Turkish Cypriot people owe no submission to the Greek Cypriot administration and some Turkish Cypriots use this travel document out of necessity, without undermining their inherent sovereign equality rights.”

He added that “the exploitation of this issue by the Greek Cypriot side is an insult.”
