A new consortium was set up by Group China Ltd., as well as Brilliance Automotive Ltd., while registered in the suburb of Chaoyang, Beijing, as stated sources of local authorities. In November 2023, Mercedes-Benz and BMW signed a cooperation agreement to establish the consortium, which, according to what they announced, will help normalize the operation of the battery charging network of electric vehicles on the Chinese market. Mercedes-Benz and BMW will take advantage of their experience in the operation of charging infrastructure worldwide, but also in China, along with understanding the specificities of the electric vehicle industry (NEV), offering functional charging solutions in the Chinese market.
