Investigations into the detection of survivors were suspended in Baltimore last Tuesday night, hours after the collapse of a road bridge at the port of this city of the eastern U.S., all six people missing are now thought to be dead, announced a senior officer of the American port body. “On the basis of the investigations conducted (…), and the temperature of the water, we do not currently appreciate finding people yet in life,” explained Vice-Admiral Shannon Gillrid during a press conference. Meanwhile the governor of Maryland reported that the cargo ship that fell to the bridge in Baltimore had been able to emit sos, resulting in traffic being restricted and lives saved. “These people are heroes. They saved lives last night,” Wes Moore said referring to the crew of the Dali ship which managed to inform authorities that he was facing a mechanical problem while sailing at a speed of eight knots on the Patapsko River to finally strike the bridge in Baltimore. “The preliminary investigation suggests it was an accident,” the governor said, confirming that there is no reliable indication that it was a terrorist act.
