Avgenakis: ‘import surveillance and the market for honey’ the profits of the digitisation of beekeeping

The supervision of imports and the monitoring of its market is achieved by digitising the apiculture sector, the Minister for Rural Development and Food stressed, during his meeting with representatives of beekeeping, livestock and rural clubs of Evros. Mr. Avgenakis said that we are entering a new era, as with the introduction and utilization of technological tools, such as the digital platform for the capture of the chain of production, marketing and marketing of honey, which is completed and is in full connection with the National Electronic Beekeeping Register and the elements stated therein and the Atomic Digital Beekeeping Identity, the beekeeping industry is digitised and the technical potential for the supervision of imports and monitoring of the honey market is provided. With the introduction of stricter sanctions, a strong institutional framework for the protection of Greek honey is created. And he added that this enhances the protection of Greek beekeeping products, the preservation of producers and consumers, from the phenomena of fraud and deception, becoming a decisive tool for the establishment of mechanisms of traceability and compliance with the balance of honey. The meeting also discussed issues relating to the protection of Greek honey production.
