The president of the UN, Spyro Capralos, met on Friday (29.03.2024) at his coaching his champion in short, expressing his satisfaction with the changes in equipment. OAKA’s track coach, the president of the Greek Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos, visited to see the new sports equipment offered by the UN. This equipment of EUR 80,850 was purchased with funds from the Greek Olympic Committee and was granted to SEGAS to replace the obsolete layers and other items purchased in previous decades, for the World Athletics Championship “Athens 1997” and the Olympic Games “Athens 2004”. At the coachship of OAKA mattresses were placed for jumping in height, mattresses for jumping on short, stylists, nets for cast cages and other accessories and in conjunction with the recent renovation of space by the Ministry of Sports, radically changed the view of the hall. UNE president Spyros Capralos said: “The conditions of training of athletes were really bad. They had to be maintenance projects for over 20 years, we saw the condition of the tanks and the least we could do was buy this equipment so that the athletes wouldn’t get hurt. And that gave the state an incentive to move forward quickly with the renovation of the site, and she deserves a good job. We cannot ask athletes to bring success without offering them the best conditions. This also gives the State the example of improving other sports facilities, such as the Rowboard which is in a miserable state, but also the provision for facilities lost like Saint Cosmos. “ The president of the EOC met at OAKA the Olympic champion of the short jump Emmanuel Karalis along with his coach Harry Karalis: “After all these years it was finally the change of the mattresses, not only for me but also for the other athletes and the height and the short jump. This change is really pleasant, it really helps us but it will also help the young children who will be involved in the track,” said Emmanuel Karalis. He and Mr. Kapralos were also the Secretary General of EOC Manolis Kolybadis who said: “This is the purpose of Olympic Preparation and at the expense of the Greek Olympic Committee we bought the mattresses and the rest of the equipment so that our athletes could prepare with the best possible conditions for the Olympic Games. “ The President and the Secretary-General were accompanied by the President of the Committee of Athletes of the UN and President of the Greek Olympians, Voula Kozombolis. “It is particularly positive that now that we enter the final line for the Olympic Games, the leading track athletes have new equipment in their effort to distinguish in Paris. The UN and we as the Athletes Committee strive in every way to be on the side of our top athletes and support them by every means we can. “ Information: IF / PHOTO: Eurokinissi
