Apple lawsuit by the US government – accuses her of illegal monopoly

A lawsuit was filed by their government accusing the technological giant of violating antitrust laws, as it became known today Thursday (21.03.24). According to Reuters, in his lawsuit the U.S. Justice Department accuses Apple of an illegal monopoly on the smart cell market, restricting its opponents to accessing its iPhone hardware and software features. Apple is also accused of restricting users’ ability to change devices. the lawsuit argues that the company uses its emblematic market position to prevent it from developing innovative applications and message services, making it less attractive to consumers to compete with devices. She is also accused of excluding competing payment applications from her mobile phones and preventing the development of games streaming applications. This lawsuit, which was allegedly filed in a federal court, escalates the antitrust struggles of Joe Biden’s government against most of the U.S.’s largest technological giants. “Consumers should not pay higher prices because companies violate antitrust struggles,” Justice Minister Maryk Garland said in this regard. “If it doesn’t change, Apple will just continue to boost its monopoly on smart mobiles,” she said.
