An abbey of 1500 m.X. transformed into a romantic residence

20 years ago the owner was found in the area of Bergamo and was captivated by both the beautiful location and the…
the long history of the house: built around 1500, it originally functioned as an abbey, later converted into a mill and finally was abandoned. The German eco-designer Κάτριν Άρενς the envisioned as the ultimate refuge of the same and of her family, as well as the ideal place for the laboratory of manufacturing furniture from recycled wood. So we decided to proceed to a radical renovation of the building.
He painted the whole interior white, from the walls up to the beams in the ceiling and floors, in order to emerge more wooden furniture bearing the signature of the Male. The space exudes purity, cleanliness, serenity and a timeless simplicity.
Still opened new windows so that there is an unobstructed view to the river and nature, but also to get more light in the rooms. The decoration is simple dominates, but is interspersed with some modern touches.

Inspire us the signs of the time are embossed on the inside and on the outside of the building, and which testify, in the most vivid way the development until today.

Nature is ready to invade the interior through the windows.
