Amnesty international: The draft EU – Turkey for refugees has a moral and legal shortcomings

The plan drawn up by the European Union and which provides for, among other things… be sent back to Turkey a number of immigrants and refugees has a legal and ethical shortcomings and may put at risk vulnerable people, pointed out today, the head of Amnesty International, calling on Europe to take over the hosting of more people seeking asylum.
“It’s problematic, morally and legally,” said the secretary-general of Amnesty International Σαλίλ Ceti to the news agency Reuters from Dubai.
The Sethi said in an interview that, he would meet with the Interior minister of France, Bernard Huh, the president of the European Council Donald Tusk, and other European officials this week “to express in person the shock and our anger for the things that are prepared”.
“It is supported that it does not breach european law because Turkey is a safe country. How exactly Turkey is a safe country for these people?” said the Ceti.
“Most european countries have signed the Convention (of the UN) for refugees, therefore, violate directly,” added the head of Amnesty International.
“The UN Convention on the status of refugees is clear, the people who are fleeing their countries to escape war and persecution are protected internationally. Therefore, we have to examine one by one the cases”.
“This idea of the exchange of human beings – it’s kind of shocking. These people travelled, putting in danger their lives,” said Sethi.
