President of Pi.I. P. mr Michael Βλασταράκος speaking of Monday 26 September to the Joint Committee on Social Affairs, Finance, Energy, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, on the Draft Law “Urgent provisions for the Ministries of Finance, Environment and Energy, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks and of Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity for the implementation of the agreement of Fiscal Targets and Structural Reforms”.
The President of the E.I. P. referring to the amending provisions in the field of health, stressed the contrast of the Panhellenic Medical Association in the payment of a double levy for the health, the time that the insured person enjoys the same benefits.
He also mentioned that the discounts for new doctors to be maintained, as well as the discount of 50% of insurance contributions after 40 years of insurance, while the doctors, in their majority, engage in the profession for many years, and the State benefits the many benefits of remaining in work.
The amending provisions change some of the percentages, as to the participation in cash and in kind, without changing the overall rate.
Mr. Βλασταράκος expressed once again his opposition to the insurance Bill, which has a fiscal nature, and leads to new bleeding the incomes of doctors. Seven out of 10 euros, the incomes of doctors, returned to the State, through insurance and tax contributions. Remain so only 3 euro in a professional medical practitioner to meet the obligations. Result? Close the clinics and the young doctors are driven to immigration.
For any reform to be sustainable it needs long-term plan, which will enhance the work and development. That’s the only way our country, which is plagued by the crisis, will change course.
