Google Chrome is undoubtedly one of the most popular web browsers, but it is considered quite “heavy†and… energy κοστοβόÏος for computers. So, Google decided to create a new compression algorithm that will increase the loading speed of web pages up to 26%.
The new algorithm is called the Brotli, and will replace the current (Zopfli), bringing a brand new data format that compresses the HTML, CSS and JavaScript at a rate of 20-26%. This implies more speed for opening web pages, saving data in portable devices and, of course, save battery.
The algorithm Brotli is in a stage of “intent to shipâ€, therefore, you will see the application in one of the nearby updates of Google Chrome.
