Yulia Navalnaya: “Putin is not the legitimate president of Russia, we did not elect him”

His re-election was commented by Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of the dissident, stressing that he is not the legitimate president of Russia and that the official results of the election have no meaning. “We proved to ourselves and others that Vladimir Putin is not our president. We did not elect him,” Navalnaya said referring to the protests called “Dark Against Putin” and held on the last day of the presidential election on March 17. On the last day of the election, the opposition in Russia called for a peaceful but symbolic political protest against President Vladimir Putin’s re-election. Thousands of people appeared in polling stations across Russia, as part of the action “Dark Against Putin. Russians opposing Putin went to the polling stations in their area at noon that either to cast invalid ballots in protest, or to vote one of the other three candidates against Putin, who however was officially re-elected to the country’s presidency.
