Woman’s Day: Concert of Minos Matsa at the Concert Hall on Thursday, March 7

“With a History” is titled the award-winning composer, who presents his symphonic music for cinema and theatre on Thursday, March 7 at 20:30 at the Athens Concert Hall, on an evening dedicated to Woman’s Day. The National Symphony Orchestra of ERT is involved under the direction of Miltos Logiadis. Minos Matsa’s film music, which won the State Music Award for soundtracks of the films “Eduart” (2006) and “Slavs in their bonds” (2008), has been featured at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, among great creators such as Rota, Moricone, and Piatsola. At the March 7 concert at the Megaron, the favorite composer unwraps the musical mitto that connects all the female personalities of his works “with a story”. “With a story I wanted from a kid to tell with my music. With a story about every woman emerging through the works of cinema and theatre. The listener can travel, dream and finally make his own story. This is the magic of music: it opens its wings and acquires its own life by escaping the images that gave birth to it. Happiness is the emancipated woman-poet of our folk song, Eleni, the companion and muse of Kazantzakis, Megali Catherine, the iconic female form in power, Petra von Kant, Fasbinder’s demon and enigmatic figure, are some of the portraits of women I have had the chance to paint musically in recent years” the composer notes. The orchestrations are signed by Giannis Gikas, directed by Stavros Tsakiris, the design of lighting by Christina Thanasoula and the videos by Andreas Kourelas. The soloist Takis Vassiliou (traditional percussion), Christos Gerbinos (accordion), Giorgos Matsikas (mandolin, lafta), Paris Peryrakis (critic lyra). Ticket prices: from 15 to 80 euros. Information:
