Wind power surpassed nuclear power in global production

Wind energy has surpassed nuclear in electricity production in the whole world, while it also now has the ability to meet the needs of global consumption, according to a report by the World Council of Wind Energy (GWEC), a Brussels-based.
According to the data of the council for 2015, there are installed 432,42 gigawatts of wind power, after the addition of 63 gigawatts in the last year, 17 more compared with the previous year.
By comparison, according to the World Nuclear Association, in 2015 there were 382,55 gigawatts of installed power in nuclear reactors all over the planet.
The elements of the two institutions confirm that the energy of the wind is no longer the leading choice of renewable energy for the replacement of fossil fuels in order to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Among the countries that move more decisively in the production of electricity through wind energy, China has the most wind-energy capacity in operation, representing 33 percent of all the wind installations in the world.
China is also now the first in the total installed capability of wind energy production, surpassing for the first time, the European Union as a whole.
China is following the United States, Germany, India and Spain. Greece is in the 24th place of the relevant list below by Belgium, falling one position in relation to the 2014.
