In accordance with paragraph 5 of article 12 of the code of road traffic set out the persons who are required and which are excluded from the use of a safety belt. The violation of the provisions of paragraph result in a monetary fine of 350 euro, driving license suspended for 10 days and 5 penalty points in the point system.
ARTICLE 12 : General provisions
(5). The use of seat belts is compulsory for both drivers and passengers of vehicles. This obligation excludes the drivers of public service passenger vehicle, when riding within the perimeter of their area, people with diseases for which it is not appropriate to use the area, when evidenced by a certificate of state hospital, pregnant women, when provided with a relevant medical certificate indicating the date of expiry, the people who stand up to them is down by 1.50 m., as the drivers of vehicles who make continuous stops, such as postal distributors etc. For the transport of children under the age of 12 years, with a car it is mandatory the use of special means of assembly and protection, such as seats, safety belts etc. By a decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications set out the specifications for the specific means of assembly. In the same decision set out the exceptions to this obligation.
