What can happen to a man who does NOT sleep well at night?

Men who don’t sleep well and sufficiently are twice as…
likely to suffer a heart attack and up to 4 times more likely to suffer a stroke than those who sleep well, according to a Russian study that was presented at the EuroHeartCare.
The head of research, dr. Valery Gafarov, a professor of cardiology at the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in Novosibirsk, has reported that “disorders of sleep are very closely linked with the onset of cardiovascular disease. However, until today there was a pretty extensive research on the effects of lack of sleep in the event of a heart attack or a stroke”.
The study involved 657 men, aged 25 to 64 years of age, who had no history of cardiovascular disease or diabetes. The scientists found that:
Compared with men who had “good” sleep, those who had “bad” or “very bad” sleep, had over twice the risk of suffering a myocardial infarction 5 years.
This increased risk for myocardial infarction was also observed in a range of 10 years, and 14 years of age, as long as, i.e. it lasted, and research.
Almost two-thirds (63%) of men who’ve had a heart attack for the first time, described their sleep as “bad” or “very bad”.
Compared with men who rated their sleep as “good”, those that fall in the category of “evil” or “very bad” sleep had almost 4 times greater risk of stroke after 5 years.
Smaller but still statistically significant, risk of stroke was observed for the same men after 10 years. In the 14 years the difference in st was statistically significant.
The risk of myocardial infarction and stroke was higher in men with bad psychosocial factors, such as those who are widowed, or divorced, or with incomplete education, or those who do manual labor.
