“Vira the anchors” from April 19 at the Pallas Theatre

After Thessaloniki, where more than 25,000 spectators saw her, “Vira the anchors” of Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michael Reppa, also comes to Athens! From April 19 and for 10 performances only, to April 28, “Vira the anchors” goes up to the Palace Theatre. KTHBE “takes a bow” for the Pallas Theatre and Athens, with the iconic work of Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michael Reppa, in a spectacular, glowing uplift, directed by the Artistic Director, Star Peltec. After the great success of the performance in Thessaloniki and the two-thorambic reviews he received from audiences and critics, “Vira anchors” continues at the Pallas Theatre with a strong set of great players and talented, actors, musicians and dancers. A flashback on the history of the Greek inspection, as reflected through the shrewd look of Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michael Reppa. “Vira the anchors”, a work loved by the public by its first upload, is now presented by KTHBE – on the occasion of the completion of 130 years of inspection – through a new perspective of the performance that entertains, satirizes and, above all, travels the audience. A great musical theatre production that combines singing, dancing, laughter and excitement! “On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the first Greek inspection, we celebrate this unique theatrical genre. A species that emerged from the historical route of theatrical art, starting with Aristophanes and ending up in his natural space, the place where the theatre was born, as a new theatrical genre in the early 20th century, after a torched route with many twists, loans and anti-loans from various countries and cultures. Reppas – Papathanasiou, a well-loved writing duo, with a brilliant route to modern modern Greek theatre, created a play based on the history of this genre, which was very much loved by the theatre audience of Greece, from the first more historical ascent to the National Theatre in 1997, with Artistic Director Nikos Kourkulos, from where great protagonists and important actors emerged. About 30 years after the first upload we have the honour to grant us the right to upload this wonderful text again to remember through the entertainment, the beauty of the text, the joy and the laughter it gives but also the concern it can encompass. This wonderful route, which coincides with the historical route of the many Greek people in a period of an “active century”, two world wars, a cold war that has “joined us” for a long time and many great intellectual, social, political and technological changes. In the hope that the audience of Thessaloniki embraces this wonderful text through our effort to deliver it in the best possible way, we hope to offer the laughter and entertainment, which are so valuable nowadays and enjoy a great and beautiful performance from the State Theatre, the cradle of the culture of Northern Greece. People, cheer, dance, song, life!!! Third bell , lights and go!!! says in his note the director of the performance and artistic director of KTHBE, Asterios Peltecis.
