Upgrade the digital infrastructure of the schools of Central Macedonia, with a 1.8 m. euro

The upgrade of the technological equipment and digital infrastructure of the schools in Central Macedonia is the… the Region of Central Macedonia, with a total budget of 1.8 million. euro, through the NSRF, after the signature of the relevant call for proposals by the regional Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Τζιτζικώστα.
The aim is to improve and strengthen the digital infrastructure of the school units of Central Macedonia, in order to strengthen the use of digital technology in pre-primary, primary and general secondary education. In addition, it seeks the creation of positive conditions and ensuring equal opportunities of access to the use of modern technologies by all those involved in the educational system.
“The modern school is established our goal in the Region of Central Macedonia. We utilize every available resource, in order to improve the conditions in the entire spectrum of the educational process and to create modern schools, both in terms of building infrastructure, and at equipment level. With this invitation we aim to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the school units in the region, with 1.8 ec. euros from the ESPA. The introduction of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in education and the use of them is a necessity, as it has as a main objective the creation of a school that is innovative, attractive to students and will provide access to high quality education for all, in an upgraded school environment, which will facilitate the work of teachers, in order to cultivate the skills and develop the abilities of the students,” said the Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas.
At the same time the introduction of ICT contributes to addressing and reducing the major problem of early school leaving, which is a key priority of the European Commission. The use of ICT helps in the development of critical thinking of the students, in the change of teaching practice, learning process and communication.
