Underground Grand Canyon in Antarctica

A team of researchers led by specialists at Imperial College London using state of the art equipment (especially radars, etc.) identified under the παγοκάλυμμα a region in eastern Antarctica on the trail of an unknown until today giant gorge.
The researchers identified flows of groundwater that refer to a large network of rivers and a great lake.
The researchers estimate that this lake has an area of 1,250 square miles. In their article in the journal “Geology” researchers argue that the rivers and the lake are located within a giant canyon with a depth of one km and a length of 1.100 km.
Given that the Grand Canyon has a depth of 1.6 km and a length of 445 km. if, finally, the assessment of the researchers is confirmed, we will have to do probably with the largest canyon on the planet.
The gorge is located under the παγοκάλυμμα a region called the Land of the Princess Elizabeth, and was granted by M.Britain (which claimed and won the area) in Australia. The researchers estimate how the lake and the gorge either predate the παγοκαλύμματος either are products of the flow of water under the ice.
